Artistic Director of Gypsy Layne
Artistic Director, Choreographer & Producer
Nicole has been involved in the arts since childhood, studying dance in her youth, and theatre in her adolescence. As a teenager she worked with the renowned Shakespeare and Co. which inspired her to pursue a theatre degree at the prestigious Circle in the Square Theatre Conservatory in New York City. Her concentrations there included dance and theatre.
In New York, Nicole acted in off-Broadway plays and danced in various shows. She also took part in the Fringe Festival's "Wanted Ex-Cheerleaders," which was featured in the New York Times. Nicole also modeled with MUDD jeans and worked under the ICM agency to pursue further work in commercials and film.
Turning her attention to film and TV, Nicole then moved to Los Angeles, where she appeared in TV shows, and independent movies including "Kenmore Ave." which was shown at the Sundance Film Festival.
It was Nicole's abiding love of dance which thrust her into the music video scene, and ultimately landed her the gig that would lead her into the world of Burlesque. She was asked to choreograph and dance for the legendary Pointer Sisters at The Royal Venue, a benefit for the City of Hope Foundation, held at the Henry Fonda Music Box Theater. Through her research into the forms and styles of Burlesque, she fell in love with the images and stories of Sally Rand, Betty Paige and Lili St. Cyr, and has been enthralled with the art, the glamour, and the mystique of Burlesque, ever since. Nicole hopes that you will come and share her passion for this tantalizing art form.
